Governor Signs Bill Ensuring Coverage for Yearlong Birth Control Supply
On April 26, Governor McAuliffe signed a bill introduced by Delegate Eileen Filler-Corn requiring insurers to cover up to a 12-month supply of prescription birth control at one time. This policy the first pro-active pro-choice measure passed by the General Assembly in over a decade is recommended by public health experts to remove barriers to continuous birth control use and thereby reduce unintended pregnancy. General Assembly Budget Eliminates Proposed Program to Increase Long-Acting Birth Control Access
