Anti-Choice "TRAP"

Proposed targeted regulations on abortion providers (TRAP) in Virginia would be the most onerous in the country. They could force women's health centers to close and serve as a backdoor ban on choice.

Join our Legislative Rapid Response Team

You can be a critical part of our legislative advocacy strategy for the 2014 General Assembly session -- right from home! Contact us at info@naralva.org to sign up for our 2014 Legislative Rapid Response Team.

When the General Assembly session opens in January, we know that Virginia's anti-choice state legislators will be picking up right where they left off in 2013 -- introducing a wave of new bills designed to attack access to abortion, birth control and reproductive health care.

The NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia team will be on the ground in Richmond, meeting with legislators, testifying at committee meetings, and keeping the media and the public up-to-date on what's going on.

We need to know which activists we can rely on to be our first line of defense against anti-choice attacks and help encourage other activists to get involved when it matters most.

When you join the Legislative Rapid Response Team, you'll be the first to know about the latest developments and what you can do to make an impact in defeating anti-choice legislation and supporting pro-choice policies. We'll contact you by email or phone with opportunities to help by:

  • Contacting state legislators about bills we're working on
  • Writing letters-to-the-editor and op-ed pieces in response to developments on legislation
  • Helping us call your fellow pro-choice Virginians and asking them to contact their legislators when it matters most
  • Spreading the word about what's happening in the General Assembly to your friends and networks and encouraging them to get involved as well

If you're particularly interested in any of these types of action, or have another way you would like to get involved, let us know so we can reach out to you specifically with the key opportunities that are best for you.

Identifying the go-to activists and volunteers we can count on throughout the 2014 session will help make sure we have the greatest possible impact in defending reproductive freedom! Please contact us today if you'd like to get more involved.
