Anti-Choice "TRAP"

Proposed targeted regulations on abortion providers (TRAP) in Virginia would be the most onerous in the country. They could force women's health centers to close and serve as a backdoor ban on choice.

Is Your Legislator Pro-Choice? Find Out in Our 2011 Scorecard.

Reproductive choice is a fragile right in Virginia.

This past legislative session we have seen just how fragile it is, as several bills and amendments affecting choice were decided by just one vote!

When it comes to protecting access to comprehensive reproductive health care, do you know where your state legislator stands?

Now you can find out, as I am pleased to announce NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia's 2011 Scorecard.

Each year our staff and interns work hard to keep track of legislation, tally votes, and rank each of our state General Assembly members on their support (or lack thereof) of pro-choice policies.

It takes a lot of time and effort, but I know our annual scorecard is a consistent, go-to guide for Virginians to know the status of choice in our state.

As always, you will find an overview of the bills we tracked during the 2011 session, a description of what new abortion regulations could mean for Virginia women, and a full list of how your elected officials voted on each relevant bill.

I hope you use this scorecard to reach out to our pro-choice allies and thank them for their consistent support. I also hope you reach out to those legislators opposed to reproductive health care for women and respectfully voice your dismay and concerns.

And don't forget to let the scorecard be your guide as we head into the statewide elections on November 8, when all 140 General Assembly seats will be up for grabs.

With your help, we will keep the pressure on and remind our elected officials that they work for Virginia, and Virginia is Pro-Choice!
