NARAL PRO-CHOICE VIRGINIA ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENT OF JENNIFER WEXTON FOR STATE SENATE

Alexandria– Today, NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia, the commonwealth's leading advocacy organization for women's health and reproductive rights, announced its endorsement of Jennifer Wexton, candidate in the special election to replace Attorney General-elect Mark Herring in the state senate. Wexton is running in the 33rd senate district against newly-nominated GOP candidate John Whitbeck and Fmr. Delegate Joe May, who recently announced his candidacy as an Independent.

"Voters in the 33rd district are very fortunate to have an absolutely steadfast pro-choice candidate in Jennifer Wexton," said Tarina Keene, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia. "As a Leesburg attorney, Wexton understands the critical role that reproductive rights plays in advancing and ensuring equality for women - in the workplace, community, and beyond. Wexton strongly believes in a woman's right to make her own personal, private medical decisions, and if elected, I am confident that Jennifer would work to protect and advance Virginians' access to critical medical care. NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia is thrilled to endorse Jennifer Wexton, and we look forward to working closely with her in the years to come.”

NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia supports candidates who are dedicated to family planning, preventing unintended pregnancy, and increasing access to reproductive healthcare for women and families. The organization’s powerful statewide network of activists mobilized pro-choice voters throughout Virginia to help elect Terry McAuliffe, Ralph Northam, Mark Herring, and other pro-choice candidates this fall.
