U.S. Must Fulfill Promise of Women's Equality by Jill Hopke August 23, 2007 Sunday is Women's Equality Day, a day when the United States should take steps to live up to its founding principle of equality. The day marks the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920, which granted women the right to vote.
