NARAL PRO-CHOICE VIRGINIA PAC ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENT OF JODY WAGNER FOR LT. GOVERNOR, COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA
Endorsement highlights organization’s dedication to building pro-choice leadership in the Commonwealth
(Alexandria, VA) – Today, NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia PAC, the Commonwealth’s leading advocate for personal privacy and a woman’s right to choose, announced its endorsement of Jody Wagner for Lt. Governor.
“There’s a night and day difference between current Lt. Governor Bill Bolling and Jody Wagner when it comes to supporting women, families and reproductive health. Bill Bolling has been completely hypocritical when it comes to women’s reproductive health- first launching an initiative for cervical cancer prevention, and then casting the tie-breaking vote to defund Planned Parenthood, leaving many low-income without access to healthcare, including screenings for cervical cancer,” said Tarina Keene, Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia.
“Bill Bolling has voted repeatedly to harm women’s health, having co-patroned an alarming 16 anti-choice bills as a state senator, and making an additional 35 anti-choice votes while in office. Virginian women and families cannot afford politics and ideology to trump the need for comprehensive, accessible, and affordable healthcare.” Keene added.
But with Jody Wagner, Virginians have the opportunity to elect a leader who cares about preventing unintended pregnancies and making commonsense measures like birth control, and contraception accessible to all. NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia PAC is proud to endorse Jody, and do all we can to support her candidacy.
NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia PAC supports candidates who are dedicated to family planning, preventing unintended pregnancy, and increasing access to reproductive healthcare for women and families. The organization’s powerful statewide network of activists will mobilize pro-choice voters throughout Virginia to help elect Jody Wagner and other pro-choice candidates in November.
